Release Coating – Frequently Asked Questions

What is Release Coating used for?

Release Coating creates a hard, smooth, repellent surface that prevents ink from adhering. It’s ideal for flexographic printing environments where easy cleanup and long-term slip are essential.

How much area does a 4oz bottle cover?

A 4oz bottle can cover approximately 320 square inches. For example, an 80” x 26” surface only requires about ¼ oz when properly applied.

How do I apply Release Coating?

Clean and dry the surface thoroughly. Apply RC with an applicator pad in one direction, let it sit until lines form, then lightly wipe with a microfiber towel. Allow to cure for optimal performance.

What is the recommended cure time?

For maximum durability, allow an 8-hour cure. A 3-hour cure is the minimum, but may result in a shorter lifespan of the repellent surface.

Can I use Release Coating on any surface?

It’s designed for non-porous, smooth surfaces used in flexographic printing. Avoid using abrasive tools that could scratch through the coating.
