The best anilox cleaning brushes are specifically designed for optimal cleaning of Chrome Anilox Rolls.

• Brass Bristles work well for getting dried ink and debris out of the surface of mechanically engraved chrome anilox rolls or (other soft metal surfaces). The brass bristled brushes are used because the softer bristles result in reduced wear to the roll surface when compared to the Stainless bristles. People like the plastic handle. The bristles are 1 inch long and .003 inch diameter Note: brass bristles are not suitable for laser engraved ceramic surfaces. Please do not use brass bristled brushes on laser engraved ceramic surfaces because particles of brass can lodge in the ceramic cells.
• Nylon bristled brushes are for general hardened surfaces and for mechanically engraved chrome plated anilox rolls.
• Horse Hair bristled brushes are for cleaning of photopolymer, digital and rubber printing plates and softer surfaces. Horse hair bristled brushes are suitable for use on printing rolls, printing plates and other softer surfaces in the press room.

Maintaining Chrome Anilox Rolls

These brushes are the optimal brushes for cleaning chrome anilox rolls.  These anilox rolls need periodic cleaning just like  traditional anilox rolls.  Although the digital anilox rolls may have a different appearance or may not even be visible inside the machine, they are still anilox rolls.  The cleaning and maintenance requirements are very similar to the traditional anilox units.   These rolls have cells which will fill with dried ink, glue, or UV Coatings.  As the cells become plugged the quality and consistency of the output will degrade.
